Labeling Thee Sinseers as a nostalgic 'oldies' act would be a misconception. Led by multi-instrumentalist Joey Quiñones, the eleven-piece formation from East Los Angeles has been pushing the boundaries of R&B and soul into a distinct, contemporary sound since 2019. With their new album Love Stories, released via the prestigious Colemine Records, the band presents a layered portrait of love that elevates the raw romance of the 1960s into the present day.

Inspired by the cinematic dynamics of their hometown, the group explores the full breadth of human connections: from familial bonds to the complexities of unrequited longing. While their early work was an organic exploration, the band operates on this album as a collective 'painting,' enhanced by warm analog sounds and the sophisticated arrangements of newcomer Skip Heller. Love Stories is a tribute to 'souldie' culture, where the spirit of legends like Thee Midniters lives on in a modern, honest soundtrack deeply rooted in the streets of East LA.

How to get to Tolhuistuin

Tolhuistuin (formerly Paradiso Noord) is located at IJpromenade 2 in Amsterdam North. A free ferry runs from Amsterdam Central Station to Buiksloterweg. From there, turn left and you’ll walk straight into Tolhuistuin. For club nights, the rear entrance (Buiksloterweg 5C) is used. This entrance can be reached via Overhoeksplein
