Theatre of Hate werd in 1980 opgericht door Kirk Brandon, voortkomend uit punkband The Pack. Met hun kenmerkende sound, mede dankzij John “Boy” Lennards bezwerende saxofoon, scoorde de band direct met ‘Legion’/‘Original Sin’. Het album ‘Westworld’ (1982), geproduceerd door Mick Jones (The Clash), stond 21 weken op nummer één in de indie-hitlijsten. Na een turbulente periode en reünies bracht TOH in 2016 ‘Kinshi’ uit, gevolgd door ‘A Thing of Beauty’ (2021). In 2024 verschijnt een herwerkte versie van ‘Westworld’, terwijl de band wereldwijd hun intense, tijdloze post-punkgeluid blijft verspreiden.

How to get to Tolhuistuin

Tolhuistuin (formerly Paradiso Noord) is located at IJpromenade 2 in Amsterdam North. A free ferry runs from Amsterdam Central Station to Buiksloterweg. From there, turn left and you’ll walk straight into Tolhuistuin. For club nights, the rear entrance (Buiksloterweg 5C) is used. This entrance can be reached via Overhoeksplein
