De indierockband The Wooden Sky heeft in thuisland Canada een flinke sterrenstatus. Tien jaar geleden debuteerde The Wooden Sky met het album ‘When Lost at Sea’ en bracht dit jaar 'Let's Be Ready' uit. De band laat daarop stevigere indierock horen dan we gewend zijn, met nog altijd een subtiele countrysnik en soms ook subtiele folkinvloeden.

"It felt, to me, like a do or die moment," vertelt frontman Gavin Gardiner. "We'd spent so much time on the road, and we came to a fork in the road where we had to choose whether to go on or just stop. Let's Be Ready gave us a sense of renewed energy. It's more of a rock album than anything we've ever made before. It's fun to go for broke, and we were happy to do it.”
