In het rijtje van bands met een goede reputatie voor liveoptredens hoort The Waterboys absoluut thuis. Sinds de iconische 'Fisherman's Blues' tour is de band niet weg te denken uit het livecircuit. De band draait sinds het begin van de jaren 80 mee en slaagt erin om relevant te blijven door de ijzersterke mix van rock en roll, folkrock van de Britse eilanden, Keltische invloeden, synths van weleer en literaire verwijzingen. De Schotse gitarist en vocalist Mike Scott startte de band nadat zijn vorige band uiteen was gevallen. De eerste formatie kwam samen door oproepen in de krant en tegenwoordig bestaat de band na verschillende wisselingen uit Scott, Paul Brown op keyboard, Ralph Salmins op de drums en Aongus Ralston op de bas. De tijdloze muziek, waaronder 'The Whole Of The Moon' en 'How Long Will I Love You' is gecovered door Prince, The Killers, U2, Ellie Goulding, The War On Drugs en te beluisteren in verschillende films en series.

How to get to Paradiso

Paradiso is on the Weteringschans 6-8 in Amsterdam. That is very close to Leidseplein. From every part of the city there are trams heading towards Leidseplein. From there on out you can walk to Paradiso. Free and secured underground bike parking is available on the opposite side of Paradiso. Travelling by car is difficult, since there are only a few busy parking lots nearby.
