The Presidents of the United States of America, afgekort tot PUSA, is begin jaren negentig opgericht in Seattle. Anders dan de meeste grungebands, donker getint en met niet al te vrolijke teksten, staat PUSA bekend om optimistische maar stevige grungerocknummers met teksten vol zelfspot. De drie bandleden, Chris Ballew, Dave Dederer en Jason Finn, brachten in 1995 het titelloze debuut uit, waarvan het dubbelzinnige ‘Peaches’ en ‘Kitty’ en ‘Lump’ enorme hits werden. Vanavond spelen ze het hele eerste album.
