Bepaalde muziek is altijd modern en actueel. The Plastic Dolls begonnen in 1984 als duo (White Stripes avant la lettre) om in 1990 als zevenmansband met blazers te eindigen. Begin jaren tachtig werd hun muziek wel aangeduid als bluespunk, een term die gedateerder is dan de muziek, zeker nu - bij de herstart als trio. Hans Ter Burg gitaar&zang, Jasja Offermans bas, Mighty Mike drums.
