Toen in 1999 de band Vulgar Unicorn stopte, ging het bandlid Bruce Soord in zijn eentje verder onder de naam The Pineapple Thief. Hij maakte in zijn eentje muziek in zijn studio, maar transformeerde op veelvuldig verzoek van een steeds groter groeiende groep fans zijn one-man studioproject naar een volledige band. Sinds 2002 toert de progressieve rockband de wereld rond en maken ze veelgeprezen albums, waarvan 'Dissolution' uit 2018 de meest recente is. Twee jaar eerder maakte The Pineapple Thief bekend dat King Crimson en Porcupine Tree-drummer Gavin Harrison zich bij de band - die verder bestaat uit Jon Sykes op bas en Steve Kitch op keyboard - zou voegen. Dat zorgde volgens kenners voor een definitieve sprong naar de top van de progrock-scene. In 2020 verschijnt het dertiende studio-album van het kwartet.

How to get to Paradiso

Paradiso is on the Weteringschans 6-8 in Amsterdam. That is very close to Leidseplein. From every part of the city there are trams heading towards Leidseplein. From there on out you can walk to Paradiso. Free and secured underground bike parking is available on the opposite side of Paradiso. Travelling by car is difficult, since there are only a few busy parking lots nearby.
