Vanaf 1974 hebben The Nits een onwrikbare plaats in het landschap van de Nederlandse popmuziek. Met Henk Hofstede, Rob Kloet en Robert Jan Stips als vaste kern bestaat de band nu 35 jaar. Bandleden kwamen en gingen en ook de vaste leden sloegen zo nu en dan hun eigen weg in, maar na ruim vijfentwintig platen zijn The Nits nog steeds bekend in binnen- en buitenland. ‘Strawberry Wood’ is de titel van het nieuwe album dat begin oktober 2009 uitkomt. Tevens verschijnt er een set van tien cd’s met de titel ‘Soap Bubble Box’, met het beste van vijfendertig jaar The Nits.
