The Mary Wallopers is een folkband uit het Ierse Dundalk. De band start in eerste instantie met Sean McKenna en de broers Charles en Andre Hendy. In tegenstelling tot veel andere muzikanten die naar London of Manchester trekken om muziek te maken, blijft het trio liever in Dundalk; volgens hen de beste plek op aarde. Vanuit hun schuur beginnen ze met het maken van covers van oude Ierse folkballads, livestreams en van daaruit werd het album 'A Mouthful of the Mary Wallopers' geboren. Om hun uitvoeringen meer schwung te geven is de band nu uitgebreid naar zeven leden; Roisin Barret op bas, Brendan McInerney op drum, Seamas Hyland op accordeon en Finian O'Connor op de fluit. De band bezit een rustieke en rauwe energie en zit muzikaal gezien tussen The Clancy Brothers en Dead Kennedys in.

How to get to Paradiso

Paradiso is on the Weteringschans 6-8 in Amsterdam. That is very close to Leidseplein. From every part of the city there are trams heading towards Leidseplein. From there on out you can walk to Paradiso. Free and secured underground bike parking is available on the opposite side of Paradiso. Travelling by car is difficult, since there are only a few busy parking lots nearby.
