Marcus King is pas 22, maar heeft al een muzikale carrière om u tegen te zeggen. De zanger, songwriter en gitarist uit South Carolina maakte met debuutalbum ‘Soul Insight’ in 2015 direct indruk. Zijn ‘soul-influenced psychedelic southern rock’ combineert een oud geluid met nieuwe energie en komt met zijn band The Marcus King Band live het best tot zijn recht. Op zijn tweede langspeler ‘The Marcus King Band’ uit 2016 heeft King de hulp ingeroepen van voorbeelden Derek Trucks (speelt gitaar op ‘Self-Hatred’) en levende legende Warren Haynes (bekend van o.a. Gov’t Mule, The Allman Brothers Band en The Dead). Met name Haynes had een grote bijdrage gezien hij het album ook produceerde. King en zijn band zitten niet stil, in oktober 2017 was daar namelijk de ‘Due North’ EP met o.a het nummer ‘This Ol’ Cowboy’, een mooie opwarmer voor de show in Paradiso Noord.

How to get to Tolhuistuin

Tolhuistuin (formerly Paradiso Noord) is located at IJpromenade 2 in Amsterdam North. A free ferry is departing from Amsterdam Central Station to Buiksloterweg. Turn left and you’ll walk into Tolhuistuin. For club nights, the rear entrance is used (Buiksloterweg 5C), which can be reached via the Overhoeksplein.

Restaurant
Tolhuistuin also has a restaurant in which you can have a bite before the show. We advise to make a reservation in advance via this website.
