De Britse folkpopband The Magic Numbers is grappig genoeg geformeerd uit twee broer-zus-koppels. Michelle en Romeo Stodart en Angela en Sean Gannon. Het viertal ontmoette elkaar op de middelbare school, waar in eerste instantie Romeo en Sean samen gingen spelen onder de naam Guess. Een formatie met de zussen erin bleek echter pure magie, en in 2002 werd The Magic Numbers opgericht. Hun melodieuze folkpop, met veel strijkers en een dromerige, melancholieke sfeer, viel op in het Londense clubcircuit en niet lang na de oprichting vond de band een plek bij platenlabel Heavenly Records, waar in juli 2010 het derde album ‘The Runaway’ verscheen.
