De geschiedenis van The Libertines is op z’n zachtst gezegd tumultueus. Maar zonder wrijving geen glans en ondanks – of juist dankzij – die spanningen is de band uitgegroeid tot mythische proporties. Het derde album ‘Anthems for Doomed Youth’ is net uit en laat wederom horen waarom The Libertines in één adem worden genoemd met The Sex Pistols, The Jam, The Clash en The Smiths.
