Volgens singer-songwriter Sam Griffiths zijn de teksten van The Howl & The Hum als een soort 'deathbed songwriting': alles wat je had willen zeggen zonder je zorgen te maken over de gevolgen. Zo heeft de band het grootste deel van het afgelopen decennium besteed aan het aanscherpen van hun vermogen om kwetsbare verhalen te vertellen, gecombineerd met indie, country en elektronica. Op hun aankomende album genaamd 'Same Mistake Twice' confronteert Griffith de chaos van het afgelopen decennium in twaalf nummers vol met zijn meest eerlijke songwriting tot nu toe. Door die 'deathbed songs' te zingen, vindt Griffiths troost in de imperfecties die ons menselijk maken. Oftewel: soms maak je dezelfde fout twee keer.

How to get to Tolhuistuin

Tolhuistuin (formerly Paradiso Noord) is located at IJpromenade 2 in Amsterdam North. A free ferry runs from Amsterdam Central Station to Buiksloterweg. From there, turn left and you’ll walk straight into Tolhuistuin. For club nights, the rear entrance (Buiksloterweg 5C) is used. This entrance can be reached via Overhoeksplein
