Al 35 jaar speelt The Bats in originele bezetting. Het kwartet Paul Kean, Malcolm Grant, Robert Scott en Kaye Woodward startte in 1982 de invloedrijke rockband die anno 2017 nog steeds verfrissend klinkt. Door de jaren heen evolueerde hun geluid van countryfolk richting indierock. Dit jaar verscheen na vijf jaar weer een album, ‘The Deep Set’, de negende langspeler die de band uit Nieuw-Zeeland uitbrengt. Een album vol nummers met jengelende gitaren en zang om bij weg te dromen. The Bats is melancholisch maar nooit deprimerend, cathy en altijd origineel. En net als hun debuutalbum ‘Daddy’s Highway’ van dertig jaar geleden, klinkt The Bats vandaag de dag nog steeds tijdloos.

How to get to Paradiso

Paradiso is on the Weteringschans 6-8 in Amsterdam. That is very close to Leidseplein. From every part of the city there are trams heading towards Leidseplein. From there on out you can walk to Paradiso. Free and secured underground bike parking is available on the opposite side of Paradiso. Travelling by car is difficult, since there are only a few busy parking lots nearby.
