The Band Of Heathens klinkt als een hernieuwde vriendschap tussen Bob Dylan en The Band, of Johnny Cash die door The Black Crowes wordt begeleid. Het is een groep met indrukwekkende songschrijvers en muzikanten. De band bestaat sinds 2006 en bracht in 2008, na twee live-albums, het officiële debuutalbum uit en het jaar daarop het tweede studioalbum ‘One Foot In The Ether’.
