In 2010 ontstond het Taiwanese Sunset Rollercoaster en sindsdien is de Aziatische muziek-scene flink opgeschud. Het vijftal uit Taipei heeft Azië weten te veroveren met hun romantische, Engelstalige teksten en dromerige 80's synthpop. In hun muziek worden verschillende genres gecombineerd, van soul en garage tot psychedelische rock en synth-pop. In Taiwan wordt de band hierdoor beschouwd als een icoon voor city-pop. Voor het in 2011 verschenen 'Bossa Nova', was de band geïnspireerd geraakt door acts als The Velvet Underground. Na een break van vijf jaar waarin de band meer begon te luisteren naar jazz, blues, Motown en alles met veel saxofoon erin, kwam vorig jaar het album 'Cassa Nova' uit. Een totaal andere richting, maar altijd even smooth.

How to get to Cinetol

Cinetol is on Tolstraat 182 in the South of Amsterdam. The closest tram stop is Lutmastraat. There is also a nice restaurant in the building where you can have dinner before the show. Cinetol only accepts card payment, no cash.
