The S.O.S. Band werd in 1977 opgericht in Atlanta als Santa Monica en kreeg later de naam Sounds of Success, afgekort The S.O.S. Band. De band brak in 1980 door met het gouden debuutalbum en de hit 'Take Your Time (Do It Right)'. Producerduo Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis zorgde voor een succesvolle samenwerking vanaf het derde album. Hits als 'Just Be Good to Me' en 'The Finest' brachten de band meerdere gouden platen. In 1986 verliet zangeres Mary Davis de band, maar keerde in 1994 terug. Sinds 2020 wordt de band geleid door Abdul Ra’oof met nieuwe vocalisten en op woensdag 6 augustus brengt de iconische band een bezoekje aan Paradiso.

How to get to Paradiso

Paradiso is on the Weteringschans 6-8 in Amsterdam. That is very close to Leidseplein. From every part of the city there are trams heading towards Leidseplein. From there on out you can walk to Paradiso. Free and secured underground bike parking is available on the opposite side of Paradiso. Travelling by car is difficult, since there are only a few busy parking lots nearby.
