Sonic Acts Biennial 2024: Tentoonstellingsopening #2

The exhibition of the Sonic Acts Biënnale 2024: The Spell of the Sensuous is spread across two locations in Amsterdam: Looiersgracht 60 and W139. The Looiersgracht 60 opening of the Biennial exhibition takes place on Friday 9 February between 7:00 pm and 10:00 pm (free entry).

In Looiersgracht 60, Lukas Marxt unearths the histories of pre-atomic tests, while Anika Schwarzlose and Elena Khurtova make visible soil contamination – mapping the impossibilities of rehabilitation after warfare. These archival and research-based works slowly leak together with dream-like, scenographic installations from touche—touche, and an immersive listening experience from the laschulas collective. Focusing on breath(ing), the collective considers both the act and inhaled air as constituted by other living things, as an intertwined existential mixture in the world.

Don’t miss out: musician Aimée Theriot will be playing a live set between 20:30 and 21:00.

At 10:00 pm, the Looiersgracht 60 opening will move to the neighboring OT301 for a club night with live and DJ sets. Lineup and tickets can be found here.
