Na 5 Days Off 2014 en Lowlands is Shlohmo terug in Amsterdam. Producer Henry Laufer uit Los Angeles, beter bekend als Shlohmo, brengt op 7 april zijn nieuwe album ‘Dark Red’ uit. Shlohmo staat vooral bekend als avant-garde hiphopproducer met gruizige samples, slepende percussie en diepe synthesizers. Nu slaat hij nu een nieuwe weg in en treedt voor het eerst op met band.

Shlohmo: “It sounds like if Electric Wizard tried to make an R&B recordor Boards of Canada meets Burzum by the River Styx.” Met deze meer analoge benadering ontwijkt Shlohmo de huidige trend van pure computer-generated productie en verkent hij distortion, fuzz en noise als compositorische gereedschappen. “I’m proud to have made something polarizing, a record that's strong and undeniable even in it’s moments of pure anxiety and confusion.”
