Shannon Lay is een singer-songwriter uit Los Angeles die al twee jaar de lokale scene domineert. Beginnend in kleine barretjes weet ze iedere show meer fans voor zich te winnen, waaronder Ty Segall en Kevin Morby. Die laatste was na één show helemaal verkocht en stelde voor om een album op Morby's label Mare (onderdeel van het welbekende Woodsist label) uit te brengen. Dat resulteerde in 'Living Water' en het is de tweede langspeler van Shannon Lay dit jaar. De voornamelijk akoestische plaat wordt gekenmerkt door vinger plukkend gitaarspel, indrukwekkende teksten en zachte, maar dwingende vocalen van Lay. Pitchfork geeft het album een 7.8 en schrijft het volgende: "(Living Water, red.) is a work of plainspoken mysticism that goes to the small, bright truth of things, showcasing her unusual songwriting and quietly commanding voice."

How to get to Tolhuistuin

Tolhuistuin (formerly Paradiso Noord) is located at IJpromenade 2 in Amsterdam North. A free ferry runs from Amsterdam Central Station to Buiksloterweg. From there, turn left and you’ll walk straight into Tolhuistuin. For club nights, the rear entrance (Buiksloterweg 5C) is used. This entrance can be reached via Overhoeksplein

Restaurant
Tolhuistuin also has a restaurant where you can enjoy a meal before the show. We recommend making a reservation in advance via this website.
