De autodidactische Sevdaliza uit de Iraanse stad Teheran, kwam op haar vijfde naar Nederland. Nu, 25 jaar later, is ze zangeres, songwriter, regisseur en componist. Haar melancholische vocalen vloeien soepel over zware triphop dubs en klassieke harmonieën. Nummers worden vaak ritmisch opgebouwd en monden uit in een chaotische climax. Velen omschrijven haar werk als "genre-bending", doelend op verschillende genres als elektronisch, punk, triphop en avant-garde.

Haar album 'Ison' verscheen begin 2017 en werd internationaal onverdeeld positief ontvangen. Voor het debuut ontving ze de 3voor12 Award en het leverde Sevdaliza een Edison-nominatie op. De indrukwekkende show in Paradiso Noord smaakt naar meer en dat ze dat kan leveren zal ze met haar band zeker weten laten zien in Paradiso.

How to get to Paradiso

Paradiso is on the Weteringschans 6-8 in Amsterdam. That is very close to Leidseplein. From every part of the city there are trams heading towards Leidseplein. From there on out you can walk to Paradiso. Free and secured underground bike parking is available on the opposite side of Paradiso. Travelling by car is difficult, since there are only a few busy parking lots nearby.
