De Amerikaanse singer-songwriter Sammy Rae liep tijdens haar studie in New York haar veelkoppige band The Friends tegen het lijf, die naast Sammy bestaat uit Kellon Reese (altsaxofoon), Max Zooi (tenorsaxofoon), James Quinn (bassist), Debbie Tjong (toetsenist), Will Leet (gitarist) en C-bass Chiriboga (percussionist). De muziek van het gezelschap bevindt zich op het snijvlak van indie, pop, jazz, bigband en (retro)soul en zit vol positiviteit, passie en energie. Sammy Rae & The Friends werden tijdens de coronapandemie populair via Spotify en TikTok maar waren door de reisbeperkingen nog nooit eerder in Nederland te zien. Hier komt aankomende winter gelukkig verandering in: op 2 februari 2023 staat de band in Paradiso.

How to get to Paradiso

Paradiso is on the Weteringschans 6-8 in Amsterdam. That is very close to Leidseplein. From every part of the city there are trams heading towards Leidseplein. From there on out you can walk to Paradiso. Free and secured underground bike parking is available on the opposite side of Paradiso. Travelling by car is difficult, since there are only a few busy parking lots nearby.
