RECESS & YƐYƐ link up to serve you the biggest plate of black music at ADE 2024: with 2 rooms of music and activities there's gonna be a lot to enjoy at this fusion of Amsterdam and London culture.

RECESS
RECESS is a vibrant cultural event celebrating popular Black music and soundscapes in cities like London, Margate, Paris and more. It is a convergence of different personalities and identities who all share one common goal: to enjoy their life. RECESS is more than just a party; it's a movement that fosters community, creativity and fun. RECESS events have grown from being a consistent presence in the nightlife options to become a big moment in the cultural calendar. You have to be there.

YƐYƐ
YƐYƐ's gatherings are mainly focused on food, music, art, and culture. Born from the collective desire to change the nightlife scene in Amsterdam and putting the emphasis on people by bridging the gap between festivals and club nights and hosting day parties. Drawing inspiration from existing brunch parties abroad, YƐYƐ chose to focus on fostering connections by keeping the events smaller and more community-oriented. The mission is to connect different souls from the Afro diaspora and beyond to provide an inclusive space for all and to foster real bonds between strangers.

Heartbreaker Hotel:
Heartbreaker Hotel is a concept that has been created to bring individuals together and provide them with an evening where love and togetherness take precedence and R&B and Soul music stands central. In a world where being toxic, infidelity, situationships, and having (multiple) options are glorified, many people grapple with the consequences of a broken heart. Mending broken hearts through music, the medium that brings people together regardless of gender, race, age, or orientation. Heartbreaker Hotel isn’t a concept for heartbreakers, but for the broken hearted.
Sankofa Archives:Sankofa Archives is a creative platform where cultural diversity and artistic expression come together, providing space for artistic voices and shared stories. Inspired by the Ghanaian proverb Sankofa, meaning "return to the past and bring forward what is meaningful," the platform connects heritage with contemporary creativity, curating events with substantive themes across film, music, and art.
Jackie’s Hangout:Jackie’s Hangout organizes social activities centered around connecting young adults from the Randstad region. Remember the thrill of Jenga XL, the frantic fun of shouting out answers in 30 Seconds, or the friendly rivalry of UNO stacking up Draw Fours? We take those iconic moments and turn them into the ultimate icebreakers!

How to get to Paradiso

Paradiso is on the Weteringschans 6-8 in Amsterdam. That is very close to Leidseplein. From every part of the city there are trams heading towards Leidseplein. From there on out you can walk to Paradiso. Free and secured underground bike parking is available on the opposite side of Paradiso. Travelling by car is difficult, since there are only a few busy parking lots nearby.
