Pop Trading Company, Experimental Jetset en Paradiso hebben de handen ineengeslagen voor een capsule collection van boards en kleding. Deze samenwerking wordt gelanceerd met een avondvullend programma in de Grote Zaal van Paradiso. Verwacht een mini-ramp waarop je kunt skaten, pop-up store, livemuziek en dj's. Op het podium staan Spinvis, A Fungus, Narco Polo, Karel en Gullie. Achter de draaitafels zie je Froknroll + SDonnie, Jameszoo + Palo Santo, TV-Tas, Windu + Max Abysmal.

Capsule Collection

Based on a concept by Experimental Jetset, a selection of Pop Trading Company clothing and decks has been overprinted with variations of the Paradiso hole poster (originally designed in 1996 by Experimental Jetset, and reinterpreted for this occasion). The result is a literal translation of the idea of collaboration (between Paradiso, Pop Trading Company, and Experimental Jetset). The full collection will be on view (and for sale) for the very first time during this evening.

BYOB

Bring your own board! This evening you’ll also be able to skate inside Paradiso yourself. In collaboration with Nine-Yards The last time that was possible was more than 40 (!) years ago, when Amsterdam skate shop Rodolfo's — since its opening in 1978 responsible for introducing skateboarding in the Netherlands — built, among other things, this half-pipe inside Paradiso. Pop Trading Company

Everything it does, from the biggest collaboration down, is rooted in that. If its 10 years in the game have proven anything, it’s that you don’t have to be a traditional skate company to represent what the culture stands for. Over a decade that has seen the worlds of skateboarding and fashion collide, Pop has been a catalyst for bringing people together, giving the local riders and co-creators with them from day one a global voice, while growing its extended family from Benelux to the world.

Experimental Jetset

Independent graphic design studio, based in Amsterdam and founded in 1997 by Marieke Stolk, Erwin Brinkers and Danny van den Dungen. Focused on graphic interventions and spatial installations (a working method they themselves describe as “turning language into objects”), they have been involved in a wide range of projects for cultural institutions both in the Netherlands and abroad. Since their student days at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie they have been connected to Paradiso, designing for various club nights and now-iconic program posters.

How to get to Paradiso

Paradiso is on the Weteringschans 6-8 in Amsterdam. That is very close to Leidseplein. From every part of the city there are trams heading towards Leidseplein. From there on out you can walk to Paradiso. Free and secured underground bike parking is available on the opposite side of Paradiso. Travelling by car is difficult, since there are only a few busy parking lots nearby.
