"Feministische post-hardcore uit Engeland en Oostenrijk," staat er op de Bandcamp van Petrol Girls geschreven. Liepa Kuraitė, Ren Aldridge, Joe York en Zock richtten de band in 2013 op voor een optreden op Internationale Vrouwendag en zijn daarna vrijwel nonstop op tour door Groot Brittannië en Europa. De muziek combineert manische ritmes met vocalen die afwisselend furieus krijsend en zacht harmonieus zijn. Invloeden zijn er van onder andere Refused, White Lung, Bikini Kill en At The Drive In. Ze identificeren zichzelf expliciet als een feministenband, afgaande op persoonlijke ervaringen. Dit alles met de boodschap om seksisme belachelijk te maken, maar ook om een maatschappelijke problemen als vervreemding en geestelijke gezondheid aan de kaak te stellen.

How to get to Cinetol

Cinetol is on Tolstraat 182 in the South of Amsterdam. The closest tram stop is Lutmastraat. There is also a nice restaurant in the building where you can have dinner before the show. Cinetol only accepts card payment, no cash.
