Olivia Bartley is het creatieve brein achter het Australische project Olympia. Met haar single ‘Star City’ laat ze haar art-popstijl van voorheen los, om zichzelf volledig in een energiek, rockend geluid onder te dompelen. Ze produceerde het nummer samen met Burke Reid (Courtney Barnett, DMAs) en beschrijft het zelf ook wel als “drunk karaoke, something you’d belt unselfconsciously, full of life, self-conviction and volume”. Dat deze nieuwe stijl haar als gegoten past, bewijst ze nog maar eens op de meest recente track ‘Hounds’. Beide nummers staan op haar tweede album ‘Flamingo’, dat in juli dit jaar verscheen. Onlangs was Olympia al in Amsterdam te zien als voorprogramma van Julia Jacklin in Paradiso Noord.

How to get to Paradiso

Paradiso is on the Weteringschans 6-8 in Amsterdam. That is very close to Leidseplein. From every part of the city there are trams heading towards Leidseplein. From there on out you can walk to Paradiso. Free and secured underground bike parking is available on the opposite side of Paradiso. Travelling by car is difficult, since there are only a few busy parking lots nearby.
