Nils Frahm

De in Berlijn woonachtige componist en pianist Nils Frahm weet liefhebbers uit zowel de pop- als klassieke wereld te bekoren met zijn subtiele muziek die een combinatie is van (neo-)klassiek, electronica, minimale muziek en ambient. Met een nieuwe live setup zal Nils Frahm veel nieuw materiaal laten horen onder de noemer ‘Nils Frahm has lost his mind’.

Vergezeld door een batterij aan instrumenten (o.a. een custom made orgel, piano, mellotron, drumcomputers, synthesizers en zelfs een windharp) ontwikkelt hij nieuwe tracks. In plaats van het schrijven en opnemen van zijn volgende album opgesloten in zijn studio, doet Nils het graag anders en betrekt zijn publiek bij de totstandkoming van zijn nieuwe album tijdens deze speciale tour. Daarnaast speelt Nils Frahm ook ouder werk in een nieuw jasje.

Nils Frahm licht toe: “As most of my better songs have been shaped and crafted in a live set, I wanted to invite my audience to be part of this next big creative step of developing new material on new instruments. My audience, as always, will tell me without speaking which parts need to be shortened, which breaks should be longer, or louder, or or or… The stage will tell me where this next big record should go.”

Refererend aan de titel van deze tournee: “Making and planning this tour [with so much old and fragile gear and temperamental prototypes on stage; red] reminds me of base jumping, with the nice addition that it probably wont fail fatal. Some close friends and my family thought I went nuts when I told them about the tour. They are possibly right. It feels like a good kind of crazy so far…”
