MOLLY

Op woensdag 12 februari geeft het Oostenrijkse shoegaze-duo MOLLY een concert in Paradiso. In juni bracht de jonge band hun debuutalbum “All That Ever Could Have Been” uit, die werd overladen met lyrische recensies. Als grootste inspiratiebron voor hun werk noemt het tweetal, wat wordt gevormd door Lars Andersson en Phillip Dornauer uit Innsbruck, de Oostenrijkse Alpen.

''(The Alps) is dangerous and scary place of unpredictable weather changes, sharp cliffs, threatening mountain passes and barren wasteland –  a place where nature still rules in contrast to men. It is the sheer scale and drama of this landscape that informs the sound of MOLLY; Andersson’s glacial guitars are perfectly complemented by Dornauer’s crevasse-like drumming. Muzikaal gezien klinkt dat als een mix van shoegaze, post-rock, ambient, dreampop en prog, geïnspireerd door bands als Galaxie 500, Low, Beachwood Sparks, Dungen, The Besnard Lakes, Sigur Rós en M83.
