Alles is vergankelijk, niets is permanent.
- ENGLISH -
“The sense of the real disappears behind a blur of images. The images dominate our behavior, our perception and our judgments of truth. We try to come closer to reality as we feel it, perhaps a purer form of reality. We look for elements in our own fantasy and relate them to the fantasy of others. It becomes possible to start a process of communication. A new community is invented. Within this community everyday-elements are highlighted in a new perspective. We strongly believe in the power of subconscious communication - or the strength of the subconscious to influence communication and change one’s view of the self and the other.”
“Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.” - NXIVM

WTCH CNTRL
Alexandra Duvekot is a musician, writer, and visual artist. She is an founding member of art and sound collective Meduse MagiQ and is part of experimental psychedelic music group BLUE CRIME.
In her work, she examines how our perception influences the way we deal with ourselves and our environment, and how our imagination can help us to explore alternative points of view.
She graduated from the Gerrit Rietveld Academie at the Image and Language department in Amsterdam and studied at the School of Visual Arts in the Fine Arts Department in New York. Her work on stage creates an opportunity to build up different dimensions and to experiment with projects where art, science and sound become one. On-going research, collaboration and interaction with the audience is a major part of Duvekot’s work.
Working with a variety of media including sculpture, video, performance and sound recurring elements include scientific phenomena, installations, and experimental performance. Alexandra’s work situates itself between reality and fantasy. The driving force behind the work is bringing elements together, creating community and uniting them.
Do people have to believe in an idea to make it real?
NEVER TEMPLE
Iconic new age aesthetics are used to create an audio-visual installation that one can enter into. The performance has many different facets. Like a dream, images and sound will appear close to the view, united and collaborative in spirit. Sound and image will slowly distort, separate from each other and dissolve into a formless composition.
Everything is transient, nothing is permanent. Like a dream, figures appear, become formless, disassociated from all context then become part of a larger interwoven soundscape. Sound is offered as a way to heal and destroy your soul. Entropic nature and sound waves force you to go within and look for meaning. ‘How to build a better world?’.
The life in which surrealism is reality and you finally meet your inner child resting in the arms of LordAUK and WTCH CNTRL. Never temple is for the i-age. It's psychic therapy for your higher self. A place to reflect through refraction.
