Paradiso presenteert Mavis Staples in het MC Theater. Adres:

Mavis Staples schreef in de jaren zestig met The Staple Singers soulgeschiedenis met nummers als 'Respect Yourself' en 'I'll Take You There'. Gospel, soul en freedom-songs stonden op het indrukwekkende repertoire van The Staple Singers. Later ging Staples solo en werkte ze onder anderen met Curtis Mayfield en Prince. In 2007 kwam ‘We’ll never Turn Back’ uit, een album dat geproduceerd door Ry Cooder en in 2010 kwam haar meest recente album ‘You Are Not Alone’ uit, dat geproduceerd werd door Jeff Tweedy van Wilco. Een rijk soulalbum vol tijdloze nummers.
