Matteo Myderwyk - Super-Sonic Jazz Festival

Matteo Myderwyk is een Amsterdamse klassiek geschoolde pianist en componist. Na te zijn afgestudeerd aan het Conservatorium bracht hij in 2017 zijn deels geïmproviseerde debuutplaat ‘To Move’ uit op het gerenommeerde label Excelsior. Op het album is een vernieuwend neoklassiek geluid te horen, met invloeden van pop, jazz, elektronische muziek en het werk van componisten als Nils Frahm, Ólafur Arnalds en Max Richter. De virtuoze Myderwyk kleurt graag buiten de lijntjes en schuwt het experiment niet: zo was de veelzijdige muzikant onlangs te zien op popfestivals als Down The Rabbit Hole en Into The Great Wide Open, speelt hij in nachtclubs als De School, maar geeft hij ook concerten in traditionelere concertzalen. Op zondag 17 november zie je hem in de prachtige Vondelkerk in Amsterdam.

Matteo Myderwyk is a classically trained pianist and composer from Amsterdam. After graduating from the Conservatory in 2017, he released his partly improvised debut album "To Move" on the renowned Dutch label Excelsior. The album features an innovative neoclassical sound, with influences from pop, jazz, electronic music and the work of composers such as Nils Frahm, Ólafur Arnalds and Max Richter. Myderwyk does things in his own way and loves to experiment: you can frequently see him play at large alternative music festivals such as Lowlands, Down The Rabbit Hole and Into The Great Wide Open, at night clubs such as De School, but he also gives concerts in more traditional concert halls and churches. On Sunday 17 November you will see him in the beautiful Vondelkerk in Amsterdam.
