Wat in 1992 begon als springplank naar het Europese vasteland voor Britse bands (Blur, Slowdive, Placebo) is inmiddels in 30 jaar uitgegroeid tot een showcasefestival voor bands van over de hele wereld. Tijdens de laatste edities bood London Calling een podium aan onder meer The Murder Capital, Orville Peck, Car Seat Headrest, Shame, Alex Cameron, Fontaines D.C., Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever, Superorganism, Japanese Breakfast en Wet Leg. De eerste naam die is aangekondigd is de alternatieve rockband Wednesday. Meer namen volgen binnenkort.
Wednesday
Wednesday hails from Asheville, North Carolina and knows how to produce a rock-hard sound with a rich line-up of no less than five members. Inspiration is drawn from the alternative rock music of the 90s, interspersed with shoegaze influences. It really seems to go in any old direction, because the added lap steel guitar brings a characteristic country sound to the mix. The new record 'Rat Saw God' has already been named one of the best alternative albums of 2023.

How to get to Paradiso
Paradiso is on the Weteringschans 6-8 in Amsterdam. That is very close to Leidseplein. From every part of the city there are trams heading towards Leidseplein. From there on out you can walk to Paradiso. Travelling by car is difficult, since there are only a few busy parking lots nearby.Â
