In Italië is de
rockzanger Luciano Ligabue ongekend populair. In 1990 brengt hij zijn
debuutalbum ‘Ligabue’ uit. Het verkoopt in zijn eigen land zo goed dat het vijf
maal platina wordt. Sindsdien is zijn ster alleen maar rijzende, verkoopt hij
miljoenen platen en staat hij voor bomvolle zalen: in 2005 staat hij voor
165.000. Eind 2007 verscheen de plaat 'Ligabue - Primo Tempo', het eerste deel
van zijn greatest-hitscollectie. Die werd in mei van 2008 gevolgd door 'Ligabue
- Seconde Tempo'. Gezamenlijk bieden de albums een dwarsdoorsnede van zijn meer
dan twintigjarige carrière. Naast zanger is Ligabue regisseur,
scenarioschrijver en auteur.
