Lankum combineert traditionele folk met punk, psychedelica en drones. Met een instrumentarium bestaande uit Ierse doedelzak, viool en accordeon brengt het viertal uit Dublin nummers over moord, dronkenschap en de problematiek van de moderne wereld. Samen met de indrukwekkende stem van Radie Peat en de samenzang van de broers Ian Lynch en Daragh Lynch ontstaat een donker en zeldzaam intrigerend geluid. The Guardian beschrijft het als volgt: "Imagine the perfect house-band for a Coen brothers’ folk-horror movie". Voor het derde album ‘Between The Earth and Sky’ uit 2017 werd de band getekend door het toonaangevende platenlabel Rough Trade. Met de meest recente plaat ‘The Livelong Day’ (2019) positioneert Lankum zich als een van de meest veelbesproken Ierse bands van het moment.

How to get to Paradiso

Paradiso is on the Weteringschans 6-8 in Amsterdam. That is very close to Leidseplein. From every part of the city there are trams heading towards Leidseplein. From there on out you can walk to Paradiso. Free and secured underground bike parking is available on the opposite side of Paradiso. Travelling by car is difficult, since there are only a few busy parking lots nearby.
