Lady Blackbird uit Los Angeles is een van de grootste beloftes in de wereldwijde soul- en jazzscene van dit moment. De opkomende zangeres uit Californië bracht in 2021 haar debuutalbum Black Acid Soul uit; een geweldig goed ontvangen plaat die doet denken aan het werk van Nina Simone en Billie Holiday en waarop haar krachtige, rokerige stem uitblinkt als geen ander. Het album nam Lady Blackbird op in de legendarische Studio B van de Sunset Sound studio's in LA, in dezelfde kamer waar Purple Rain van Prince werd geschreven. Dit deed ze met een fantastische liveband, waaronder de voormalige Miles Davis-pianist Deron Johnson.

How to get to Tolhuistuin

Tolhuistuin (formerly Paradiso Noord) is located at IJpromenade 2 in Amsterdam North. A free ferry runs from Amsterdam Central Station to Buiksloterweg. From there, turn left and you’ll walk straight into Tolhuistuin. For club nights, the rear entrance (Buiksloterweg 5C) is used. This entrance can be reached via Overhoeksplein

Restaurant
Tolhuistuin also has a restaurant where you can enjoy a meal before the show. We recommend making a reservation in advance via this website.
