Doors: 19:00, Main programme: 20:00

This program has been moved to Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2023

  • Program is seated only

For this 8th edition, LADADI is teaming up with composer and musician Vernon Chatlein.

Vernon Chatlein unravels the secrets of Curaçao's most iconic music movement: Tambú. Chatlein began researching the stories of Curaçao's Tambú out of his own interest and passion.

During the workshop, Vernon will discuss his research and findings. The connections between Tambú in the Caribbean and the diaspora. He will also explain the drums, dance and singing in Tambú.

Vernon Chatlein
is a composer and a musician of many colors. Originating from Curaçao, he lived in Cuba for two years, studying music there. He moved to the Netherlands in 2009 to study with the godfather of Curaçaoan jazz, pianist Randal Corsen. On his debut album Peace, Love & Music (2017), Vernon connected jazz and latin jazz with the rhythms of the Antilles.

LADADI is for the adventurous music lover, introducing you to a diverse group of people, artistic expressions and themes/stories/thoughts/views you might not have encountered before. Expect to have eye-opening conversations, co-creational workshops and experimental evenings. All this in combination with good music and performances.

    DIP (Dinsdag in Paradiso)

DIP is a free space where creatives get the chance to try out new ideas and experiment every Tuesday night. A place for talented organizations, collectives, artists, performers, makers, free birds and inventors to create their own interpretation of Paradiso's Tuesday night.

    How to get to Paradiso

Paradiso is on the Weteringschans 6-8 in Amsterdam. That is very close to Leidseplein. From every part of the city there are trams heading towards Leidseplein. From there on out you can walk to Paradiso. Travelling by car is difficult, since there are only a few busy parking lots nearby.
