American-Ethiopian singer, songwriter and producer Kelela is known as a pioneering voice at the intersection of r&b and electronic music. Since her breakthrough with the mixtape ‘Cut 4 Me’ (2013), she has been pushing the boundaries of these genres with futuristic productions and intimate storytelling. On her third album ‘new avatar’, due out in July, she takes a new direction. Across twelve tracks, Kelela takes you on a journey through Black female anger, misogynoir, romantic tension and joy as resistance in a Gotham City-esque world, anchored by a production that demands a broader rethink about alternative, rock and indie music. Kelela’s return to Paradiso offers you the chance to experience her latest album live for the first time, and to see an artist at work who continues to chart her own course within contemporary music.

How to get to Paradiso

Paradiso is on the Weteringschans 6-8 in Amsterdam. That is very close to Leidseplein. From every part of the city there are trams heading towards Leidseplein. From there on out you can walk to Paradiso. Free and secured underground bike parking is available on the opposite side of Paradiso. Travelling by car is difficult, since there are only a few busy parking lots nearby.
