In 2007 bestormde de toen twintigjarige Kate Nash de Nederlandse hitlijsten met de single ‘Foundations’. Het bijbehorende album ‘Made of Bricks’ scoorde dankzij de geniale, gekke popliedjes met brutale teksten goed in heel Europa en Amerika. Op haar opvolgers ‘My Best Friend is You’ en ‘Girl Talk’ brak de zangeres uit Londen met haar eerdere werk; zowel haar zang als haar muziek kregen een hoekiger en scherper geluid, met duidelijke invloeden van neo-soul en indierock. In 2018 greep ze met het uitbrengen van haar meest recente plaat terug op de popsound van haar doorbreektijd, maar dan met opvallend meer synths. Zo blijkt dat Kate Nash zo’n artiest is die zichzelf opnieuw uit kan blijven vinden, zonder haar roots uit het oog te verliezen.

How to get to Tolhuistuin

Tolhuistuin (formerly Paradiso Noord) is located at IJpromenade 2 in Amsterdam North. A free ferry runs from Amsterdam Central Station to Buiksloterweg. From there, turn left and you’ll walk straight into Tolhuistuin. For club nights, the rear entrance (Buiksloterweg 5C) is used. This entrance can be reached via Overhoeksplein

Restaurant
Tolhuistuin also has a restaurant where you can enjoy a meal before the show. We recommend making a reservation in advance via this website.
