KAINA is een eerste generatie Latina, geboren en getogen in Chicago samen met haar broertje en ouders. Doordat er verder geen familie in de buurt woonde, voelde ze een afstandelijkheid van haar culturele identiteit. Ze besloot deze te ontdekken door middel van muziek. Ze nam inspiratie van haar ouders vinylcollectie, die veelal bestond uit Motown en salsa platen. Het resultaat is een passievolle mix van r&b, pop, soul en salsa. Haar debuutalbum 'Next to the Sun' werd lovend ontvangen door onder andere Pitchfork en nu is ze terug met de single 'Casita'.

How to get to Paradiso

Paradiso is on the Weteringschans 6-8 in Amsterdam. That is very close to Leidseplein. From every part of the city there are trams heading towards Leidseplein. From there on out you can walk to Paradiso. Free and secured underground bike parking is available on the opposite side of Paradiso. Travelling by car is difficult, since there are only a few busy parking lots nearby.
