Ze zijn sinds een paar jaar weer bij elkaar: dj Sammy B en rappers Afrika Baby Bam en Mike G, samen de Jungle Brothers. De eerste twee albums van de groep uit New York, Straight Out the Jungle (1988) en Done by the Forces of Nature (1989) zijn bona fide hiphopklassiekers. Samen met De La Soul en A Tribe Called Quest vormde het drietal de voorhoede van de invloedrijke native tongue-beweging. Als de JB’s ergens voor staan, dan is dat originaliteit en funk.
