De in Minneapolis geboren maar in Amsterdam residerende vocalist José James maakt een warme en eigentijdse mix van jazz, hiphop, r&b en soul. Hij brak door in 2008 met zijn alom geprezen debuutalbum 'The Dreamer', uitgebracht via Gilles Peterson's Brownswood Recordings. Daarop volgde een glansrijke carrière: zo bracht hij twaalf genre-overstijgende albums uit, onder andere via het iconische jazzlabel Blue Note en sinds kort via zijn eigen platenlabel Rainbow Blonde Records, won hij een Edison en werkte hij samen met artiesten als Flying Lotus. Op zijn meest recente studioalbum 'No Beginning No End 2' uit 2020 laat James zich sterk beïnvloeden door neo-soul. Op 22 november geeft hij een concert in Paradiso in zijn thuisstad Amsterdam.

How to get to Paradiso

Paradiso is on the Weteringschans 6-8 in Amsterdam. That is very close to Leidseplein. From every part of the city there are trams heading towards Leidseplein. From there on out you can walk to Paradiso. Free and secured underground bike parking is available on the opposite side of Paradiso. Travelling by car is difficult, since there are only a few busy parking lots nearby.
