In Oklahoma groeide John Moreland op. Zijn vader liet hem kennismaken met artiesten als Neil Young en Creedence Clearwater Revival. Rond zijn tiende begon hij met gitaar spelen en als tiener speelde hij in lokale punk en metalcore bandjes. Toen hij twintig werd begin hij zich te verdiepen in country en roots rock en begon met liedjes schrijven. Hij trad op als John Moreland & the Black Gold Band. In 2013 koos hij voor het solo pad en voor een meer intieme akoestische sound voor zijn eerste album 'In the Throes'. Zijn laatste album 'High On Tulsa Heat' kwam vorig jaar uit. Al jarenlang wordt hij in kleine kring de hemel ingeprezen, maar die tijd is voorbij, want ook het grote publiek omarmt deze multi-instrumentalist.

How to get to Paradiso

Paradiso is on the Weteringschans 6-8 in Amsterdam. That is very close to Leidseplein. From every part of the city there are trams heading towards Leidseplein. From there on out you can walk to Paradiso. Free and secured underground bike parking is available on the opposite side of Paradiso. Travelling by car is difficult, since there are only a few busy parking lots nearby.
