Jockstrap bestaat uit singer-songwriter en jazzvioliste Georgia Ellery en de elektronische producer Taylor Skye, die elkaar tegen het lijf liepen op het prestigieuze Londense conservatorium Guildhall School of Music & Drama. Hun muziek is zeer experimenteel en wordt beïnvloed door allerlei genres die op het eerste gezicht weinig overeenkomsten lijken te hebben: jazz, electronica, indie, klassieke muziek en pop. Jockstrap smelt alles echter samen tot een behapbaar, spannend en soms zelfs dansbaar geheel.

In 2018 bracht de band hun debuut EP 'Love Is the Key to the City' uit. De plaat trok meteen aandacht en leverde hen een deal op met platenlabel Warp Records, waarop ze in 2020 twee EP's uitbrachten: 'Beavercore' en 'Wicked City'. Na een spraakmakend optreden op de digitale editie van Eurosonic Noorderslag in januari 2021 maakt Jockstrap in 2022 eindelijk ook de fysieke overtocht naar Nederland voor een concert in Paradiso.

How to get to Paradiso

Paradiso is on the Weteringschans 6-8 in Amsterdam. That is very close to Leidseplein. From every part of the city there are trams heading towards Leidseplein. From there on out you can walk to Paradiso. Free and secured underground bike parking is available on the opposite side of Paradiso. Travelling by car is difficult, since there are only a few busy parking lots nearby.
