Program is half seated, half standing

Joan Wasser brengt onder alterego Joan As Police Woman sinds 2006 muziek uit. Haar muzikale carrière begint echter ruim vijftien jaar eerder als violist bij The Dambuilders. Joan As Police Woman staat bekend om intense nummers en dito shows. De singer-songwriter weet constant te boeien met nummers die gaan van subtiel naar stevig en van licht naar duister.

Samenwerkingen met artiesten als Anohni, Rufus Wainwright, Lou Reed en Beck en ook Viktor & Rolf zorgen voor het completeren van een imposant cv. Haar nieuwe album 'Cover Two' verscheen in 2020, en is reden voor de artieste uit Brooklyn om opnieuw op tour te gaan. Iets later dan oorspronkelijk de bedoeling was vanwege COVID-19. Verwacht deze avond hoe dan ook muziek van van het nieuwe album, maar ook eerder uitgebracht materiaal van Joan As Police Woman in een nieuw jasje. Joan speelt als trio met drummer Parker Kindred (Antony & The Johnsons, Jeff Buckley) en bassist Jacob Silver (Lee Fields).

How to get to Paradiso

Paradiso is on the Weteringschans 6-8 in Amsterdam. That is very close to Leidseplein. From every part of the city there are trams heading towards Leidseplein. From there on out you can walk to Paradiso. Free and secured underground bike parking is available on the opposite side of Paradiso. Travelling by car is difficult, since there are only a few busy parking lots nearby.
