De alternatieve rockband Jawbox is in 1989 opgericht in Washington door J. Robbins, bassist Kim Coletta en drummer Adam Wade. In 1990 verscheen het 7" debuut via het eigen DeSoto label. Niet veel later voegde tweede gitarist/zanger Bill Barbot zich bij de line-up voor een nog voller geluid. Eenmaal compleet, viel de groep op door de intrigerende post-hardcore en wist hiermee dan ook het grotere publiek te bereiken. In 1997 viel de band uit elkaar en is dat ook gebleven voor zo'n 20 jaar lang, afgezien van een kleine reünie in 2009. Gelukkig zijn ze nu weer helemaal terug en leggen tijdens hun concerten de nadruk op de discografie onder de bezetting met Robbings, Coletta, Barbot en Barocas.

How to get to Tolhuistuin

Tolhuistuin (formerly Paradiso Noord) is located at IJpromenade 2 in Amsterdam North. A free ferry is departing from Amsterdam Central Station to Buiksloterweg. Turn left and you’ll walk into Tolhuistuin. For club nights, the rear entrance is used (Buiksloterweg 5C), which can be reached via the Overhoeksplein.

Restaurant
Tolhuistuin also has a restaurant in which you can have a bite before the show. We advise to make a reservation in advance via this website.
