De Schotse Isobel Campbell bracht met het popcollectief Belle & Sebastian in 1998 haar eerste werk uit onder het album ‘The Boy with the Arab Strap’, waar ze met het nummer ‘Is It Wicked Not To Care?’ voor het eerst op de voorgrond trad. Al snel volgde in 1999 haar eerste solo-album en in de jaren die volgde verbreedde zij haar muzikale horizon. Zo ontstond in 2006 de succesvolle, doch wonderlijke samenwerking met de grote Amerikaanse brombeer Mark Lanegan. De afgelopen jaren heeft Campbell zich echter gestort in haar solocarrière, met als resultaat het in 2020 te verschijnen album ‘There is No Other’. Een volwassen plaat, waar haar kenmerkende folk-pop wordt ondersteund door gedreven melodieën, subtiele teksten en haar zachte stem.

How to get to Tolhuistuin

Tolhuistuin (formerly Paradiso Noord) is located at IJpromenade 2 in Amsterdam North. A free ferry is departing from Amsterdam Central Station to Buiksloterweg. Turn left and you’ll walk into Tolhuistuin. For club nights, the rear entrance is used (Buiksloterweg 5C), which can be reached via the Overhoeksplein.

Restaurant
Tolhuistuin also has a restaurant in which you can have a bite before the show. We advise to make a reservation in advance via this website.
