In de Kelder van Paradiso kun je tijdens en na afloop van het programma in de Grote Zaal tijdens INDIESLEAZE LIVE x Indiestad tot in de vroege uurtjes doordansen met dj's Charlie Avalon, Handshake Collective, én een verrassingsliveshow van een veelbelovend Amsterdams trio.

Het festival is voortgekomen uit de clubnacht INDIESLEAZE, die sinds 2023 wordt georganiseerd in Amsterdam. Hier maakten acts als The Dare en LYNKS hun debuut in Nederland. INDIESLEAZE speelt in op de 'indie sleaze'-revival: de heropleving van electroclash, indie en bloghouse uit de vroege jaren '00, die door TikTok en Charli XCX’s album ‘Brat’ weer volop in de spotlight staat bij een nieuwe generatie.

In Nederland nemen artiesten zoals Baby Berserk, Housepainters en Lena Hessels deze rebelse muziekstijl mee de toekomst in. Ze geven het een frisse draai en mixen hun DIY-attitude met dansbare elektronica, pop, new wave en punk. En in tegenstelling tot twintig jaar geleden, zijn het vooral vrouwen die de voorhoede van deze sound bepalen anno 2025.

History

The fact that these acts are coming together at Paradiso fits well with the venue’s history: Paradiso was one of the first places in Europe where this sound came to life in the early 2000s. Events like Noodlanding, ElectroNation, London Calling, and RAUW brought together a new generation of clubgoers, inspired by underground parties in London and New York. Acts like Peaches, Soulwax, LCD Soundsystem, The Strokes, MGMT, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and Digitalism were regulars, and 2manydjs (then known as The Flying Dewaele Brothers) even took their first DJ steps at Paradiso.

Charlie Avalon is your ticket to a night full of alternative dance, indie, and sleazy pop. The DJ duo consists of Charlie Rombach and Avalon Peters, and with their healthy obsession with the underground scenes of the UK and Belgium, they’re more often on the road than at home, always hunting for the best records and the wildest nights. They’ve already shared decks with 2manydjs and The Dare, so expect an edgy mix of beats, bass, and attitude.

Handshake Collective is for anyone who prefers to shake hands on the dancefloor rather than at the office. The DJ duo, consisting of Ingrid Enache and Eros Risiglione, is known for their eclectic sets, exploring all corners of the underground. From punk and post-punk to electro, new wave, and all kinds of club classics. DIY to the core, deeply rooted in the alternative scene, with DJ sets like a rhythmic handshake that’s as solid as the bangers they blast through the speakers.

In the Basement of Paradiso, the INDIESLEAZE CLUB NIGHT kicks off with a surprise show. Which band is it? That’s a secret, but trust us: this trio is one to watch. Expect a danceable live performance full of surprises and tons of energy, just as impressive as the way this band is currently taking over the Dutch indie scene.

Paradiso's clubnight INDIESLEAZE takes you on a nostalgic journey to the raw energy of the early 2000s, blending electroclash, indie, nu-disco, pop, electro, and dance-punk. But it’s not just a throwback – it’s a rebellious remix of past and present. Imagine Charli XCX, Kesha, and The Dare perfectly mixed with iconic bangers from Daft Punk, Grimes, Justice, M.I.A., and LCD Soundsystem. Picture a night of playful chaos, hazy disposable camera shots, stylish outfits, and pure hedonistic energy.

How to get to Paradiso

Paradiso is on the Weteringschans 6-8 in Amsterdam. That is very close to Leidseplein. From every part of the city there are trams heading towards Leidseplein. From there on out you can walk to Paradiso. Free and secured underground bike parking is available on the opposite side of Paradiso. Travelling by car is difficult, since there are only a few busy parking lots nearby.
