Vorig jaar brak de Ierse singer-songwriter Hozier wereldwijd door met de single ‘Take Me To Church’ - een nummer dat zich afzette af tegen de (Russische) homohaat. De 24-jarige multi-instrumentalist belichaamt oude blues, pop, soul, religie en integriteit. Gospel, Leonard Cohen en John Lee Hooker behoren tot zijn inspiratiebronnen. Een paar maanden geleden kwam zijn titelloze debuutalbum uit dat in zijn thuisland de nummer 1 van de albumlijst haalde. Hozier haalde ook de top 10 in België, Denemarken, Groot-Brittannië en de Verenigde Staten.
