Statement: "Extremely sorry to announce that my European tour will now start later in March due to Covid restrictions and their logistical repercussions. The tour will now start on March 14th in Donostia, with the tour in Spain and France remaining intact but all preceding shows will not go ahead. Hoping I can return to those cities I’m missing out on this time as soon as it’s safe and possible. Much apologies for these changes especially if it effects any travel plans."

Gruff Rhys werd bekend als de frontman van psych-popband Super Furry Animals, maar maakt nu ook al geruime tijd furore als soloartiest en pop-excentriekeling. Daarnaast is de Welshe zanger in zijn carrière veel samenwerkingen aangegaan; zo droeg hij samen met De La Soul bij aan de Gorillaz-track ‘Superfast Jellyfish’, is hij te horen op ‘Cream Dream’ van Simian Mobile Disco en verzorgt hij de zang op ‘Dial: Revenge’ van Mogwai. Zijn eerste soloalbum ‘Yr Atal Genhedlaeth’ verscheen in 2005 en was geheel in het Welsh gezongen. Na die eerste release verscheen elk nieuw album via Rough Trade, waarop in mei 2021 ook zijn zevende en meest recente plaat ‘Seeking New Gods’ uitkwam.

How to get to Paradiso

Paradiso is on the Weteringschans 6-8 in Amsterdam. That is very close to Leidseplein. From every part of the city there are trams heading towards Leidseplein. From there on out you can walk to Paradiso. Free and secured underground bike parking is available on the opposite side of Paradiso. Travelling by car is difficult, since there are only a few busy parking lots nearby.
