Due to the limited room capacity (maximum 250 visitors), it is not necessary to show a negative COVID-19 test or proof of vaccination at the entrance.

You do not have to show a 'coronatoegangsbewijs' or a proof of vaccination to visit this concert. Inside the venue, concertgoers will have to practice a social distance to other visitors. It is not compulsory to wear a mask, but we do advice to wear one when moving around in the venue. Please see this page for all applicable corona measures within Paradiso.

Paradiso en Grachtenfestival slaan de handen ineen voor de uitvoering van het nieuwe werk ‘Labels Aren’t Our Names’ van componist, zanger en ud-speler Nawras Altaky. Hij heeft van het Grachtenfestival de Compositieopdracht 2021 gekregen en zich voor het stuk laten inspireren door het festivalthema Luister! Muziek als protest.

Samen met een ensemble bestaande uit uiteenlopende jonge topartiesten brengt Nawras het werk in première. Daarnaast staan nog vijf andere nieuwe composities op het programma. Luister naar virtuose en moderne composities, op smaak gebracht met prachtige Arabische melodieën, de vrijheid van jazzharmonieën en de kracht van klassiek contrapunt. De composities van Nawras zijn zeer persoonlijk en veelal geïnspireerd door zijn waarden, verhalen en ervaringen. De muziek wordt ondersteund door tekst, performance en beeldende kunst.

How to get to Paradiso

Paradiso is on the Weteringschans 6-8 in Amsterdam. That is very close to Leidseplein. From every part of the city there are trams heading towards Leidseplein. From there on out you can walk to Paradiso. Free and secured underground bike parking is available on the opposite side of Paradiso. Travelling by car is difficult, since there are only a few busy parking lots nearby.
